“The idea for Vertigo Blue began to take shape several years ago, during my first sailing experience.
I was sailing with a good friend on his Arpege since a couple of weeks, leaving Sicily and heading towards Barcelona, stopping by Sardinia and the Balearics.
When we arrived on the island of Menorca, in a small cove, we found a source and some equipped climbing routes. We were both hungry beginner climbers, and I was a freshwater sailor…. We thought we were dreaming. That evening, we climbed under the soft light of the full moon.
We stayed there for 3 days without moving, except to go climbing, fishing and to take me to the nearest hospital with a broken foot, not from a climbing fall but from a walk after a drink on the cliffs…
During this trip and others that followed, I realised that there were many possibilities to relive the same adventure in different places around the Mediterranean. From that moment on, it was clear to me that this was all I had to do: sail, climb the most beautiful crags by the sea and take others with me to have a life-changing experience”.
